Evolutio Questionis (soprano voice and orchestra) Tanglewood Music Center, Gunther Schuller, conducting — 1970 Following the buzz generated by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s performances of Fountain’s music earlier that year, Schuller invited Fountain to Tanglewood that same summer. The piece — performed with a chamber-scale orchestration of one player per instrument — was played twice, back to back.
